Default Programing DX8 G2 dual ail, single flap and gear

I'm trying to program a DX8 G2 for dual ailerons, single flap and gear. AR8000 receiver that came with the DX8. In wing type I select dual ailerons and 1 flap and normal tail. It puts the flaps in the gear channel so I move it to AUX 2 but now the gear is unavailable. of course the manual is no help.

What am I missing?

Put the gear switch onto the Aux2 function (Channel Assign, then NEXT to get there).

You can then swap Aux2 and Flap functions onto the channels you want.

Thanks Andy, I'll try that. I must say the first gen DX8 was easier for those of use who don't need fancy stuff!

You could skip this step entirely.

Having Gear on GER is totally user preference. It wasn't possible in the DX8G1, but is in the DX8G2.

I guess I don't understand, when I select the dual aileron and single flap in wing type it puts the flaps on the gear channel. It didn't do that before. Is the flap channel usually AUX 1?

It has always done this.

When you have 1 Ail/1 Flap then flap is on Aux1. When you have 2 Ail then the second aileron is always on Aux1 for timing reasons.

What goes where depends on exactly what you have selected.

Well, I guess we'll have to agree that I need a Programing spectrum radios for dummies book. The manual doesn't seem to help me much.

Thanks Andy

Most of the time I do my support in RCG, so there is a wealth of information there for users.

A lot of it has been collated on the DX9 Wiki (it applies to all the radios) and to one club website.

http://dx9.wikia.com/wiki/DX9_Wiki
http://lakesawyerhawks.org/web_resou...dio_equip_.htm

Those two places have duplicated a lot of the information from RCG for easier use.
